Description

I couldn’t close this weekend without a work for Toy Girls’ Arts & Crafts Series. So, I’ll skip a number for the sake of this subseries. I’m mickeyelric11, and I give you the welcome. Please, remember my Donation Pool and Twitter Account.

Fiction sure loves to turn humans into animals, and sometimes the other way around. In the latter aspect, we got countless stories about animal characters behaving as sentient creatures in order to serve as the protagonists, or totally anthropomorphize them so they can be the avatars of the humans in a fictional society. This formula brought us many legendary books as “Watership Down” and “Animal Farm”, and timeless animated works as “Zootopia” or “Rocko’s Modern Life”. Therefore in this genre we find this interesting work, which gave us this character. For this Sunday:

Celeste, from “Babar”, requested for my great and loveable friend Loreal, AKA, :iconwordgirlserenity67:

This story starts with the publishing of the book of the French writer Jean de Brunhoff, “Histoire de Babar”. Based on a tale invented by his wife , it narrated the life of the elephant Babar, which, after he gets the Bambi Mom’s treatment, it proceeds to leave the jungle for the city, and then it returns to transform its ecosystem into a Civilized Community, adopting many Human Costumes, which will turn it into the King of the Elephants at the end. Also, it marries it cousin BTW XD
Well, decades later, this series of books was finally adapted to an animated series created by Nelvana, with a pretty interesting formula: instead of narrating the story in order, the animated series starts with Babar as the king already, but he talks about its adventures with its children as flashbacks. 3 points for creativity!
I remember completely how many times I enjoyed this show as a kid. I never forgot when Babar’s mother was killed. It was so fucked up!
But well, let’s pass already with the Queen itself, Celeste.

In the original books, it was Babar’s cousin which ultimately became into its wife, but I think the “Cousin” part was erased so it won’t content Incest for children. Maybe someday we will grow up…
Well, I really have nothing else to say about it, so, let’s say now that Celeste is a Toy Girl.

Like norm, I transformed this famous elephant into a human being, and, remembering that she was an African Elephant, I gave her dark skin. BTW, no, I didn’t do this in order to not piss off anyone. I care a fuck about Social Justice Warriors.
However, to remember her original gray skin, I put that color in the pupils and in the earrings I added, which got the shape of elephant’s ears XD. At first I considered in coloring her hair gray, but I just didn’t find it fitting, also, I’d rather the black hair.
Of course I didn’t dress her in a stereotypical African Cannibal outfit, but, instead, in the dress she wore once she started to act like a human.
And for the pose, I remember Elsa in her song “Let it Go”, and I stole one of the frames when she was creating her ice dress, remembering the future role of Celeste as a Queen.

So, if you ever wanted to see a blend between “Bambi” and “Lion King”, “Babar” is a series that you may like. It’s cute and has its edgy moments. I hope it gets more adaptations, because “Cuteness shall last”.
